A prop designer and supplier (Property Master) is a person who decorates scenes and artistic elements in films and all forms of entertainment media to complement and create artistic images for viewers to understand the scope, duration, and mood of the film and entertainment media.
Props are divided into two types: Set Props, which are props placed in the scene to enhance the taste and understanding of the story, and Hand Props, which are props used to tell the story. . . .
[Duties of prop designers and suppliers]
• Creating elements and props according to the script or as the director wants to complete the location or scene. • Prepare various props for the scene or have the actors hold or act on them. • Coordinate between the film director, producer, art director, cinematographer, technical staff in various fields, and related designers. . . .
[What kind of personality is suitable to be a prop designer and supplier?]
• Basic interest in interior decoration in terms of eras and styles of decoration. • Know how to use color and material pairs and know how to place the weight of artistic elements to create shallow and deep dimensions in films and entertainment media. • Know how to arrange artistic elements very well. • Must be observant and know how to interpret the script because the location must be presented through artistic elements.
